Hello, I am Ilhaan and this is my small corner on the internet. During my studies, I constantly faced the problem of not being able to find accurate and well-grounded answers to my questions, no matter how simple they were.
Even with all these LLMs, the quality of correct information has suffered because they are not designed to give you correct answers. All they do is predict what the next word could be based on the probability distribution. What ChatGPT is fundamentally trying to do is to produce a “reasonable continuation” of whatever text it’s got so far, where by “reasonable” we mean “what one might expect someone to write after seeing what people have written on billions of webpages, etc.” [1]
I realized that research papers are the epitome of knowledge because they are based on experiments that you can verify yourself, providing a way to get close to the truth. However, even academia is not immune to errors. [2]
This website will solve the problem I am facing and help others access all the information I collect from research papers, books, etc. This website will be a reservoir of the papers I gather to understand topics mainly focused on tech, business, economics, and philosophy.
Philosophy is important because it helps us ask superior questions and find the underlying assumptions. For example, what reasons do we have to trust the information we are reading? How does the author define things? What is truth anyway? Who gets to decide what is right and what is wrong? Is this information well-grounded? How do we determine the credibility of a source? What biases might be influencing the information presented? How can we verify the claims made in a piece of research? What methodologies were used in the studies we are examining? What are the limitations of the current knowledge on this topic?
